Computer Lab

Paul Hankin is a leader in the use of technology to support musical growth. Computer lab activities are correlated on a page by page basis to the music students are studying in their normal course of study. Paul Hankin was one of the first teachers to embrace technology when it first became available in the early 1990s and was amongst the first music teachers to use midi accompaniments to aid in musical learning and performance. Paul Hankin has been using Ear Training, Aural and Theory software since this type of software first became available. Paul Hankin has seen the evolution of music education software from the very beginning and has watched the development of this technology very closely over the years. Paul Hankin continues to offer students the best advice possible regarding the most useful ways to use technology to support their course of study.

Sibelius Groovy Shapes software teaches the building blocks of musical compositions and introduces students in a fun way to essential musical concepts. The student is then able to take what they have learned and create their own composition in the form of a "Graphic Score". This approach is ideal for encouraging musical creativity at a very young age.
